A commemoration of the First World War in music, song, photographs and words.
Come in Costume! – you are encouraged to come in costumes of the time.
The programme will include the premiere of Black Country Recollections, a suite by local composer, Bob Birch, which we commissioned especially for this occasion.
The choir will sing well-loved tunes: Songs from the Trenches, Music Hall songs and others, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to sing along!
Readings will describe life in the Black Country before War broke out and life in the trenches as described by war poets, including “Woodbine Willie”.
Come early to look at displays of period material, some local to the Black Country.
