PLEASE NOTE: Update on Circus Raj!!!
This Saturdays 20th May performance of Circus Raj has been postponed due to unforeseen travel restrictions for the group. Due to unforeseen increased Visa restrictions the act will no longer be able to perform on this date in the UK, despite the best efforts of all involved.
We are still hopeful that the act can be rescheduled to perform at the venue in the near future and apologise for any inconvenience caused. For more details see below:
Circus Raj were due to open their UK tour at the Glasshouse, Stourbridge but have had to postpone the start because of unforeseen travel restrictions.
However, we are delighted to announce that their sister act, the incredible Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, will be able to stand in for them and will now be performing their family friendly spectacular music and variety show. They will be joined by the Circus Raj fakir, an Indian street theatre performer of amazing tricks, showing off his juggling, balancing, sword swallowing and other extreme, eye-watering, almost unbelievable circus skills. There will also be an opportunity for the audience to find out more about the colourful and vibrant lifestyle of Rajasthan, join in playing and singing Bollywood songs, take part in a musical parade and try their hand at tie-ing a turban.
Circus Raj, an elite group of street circus performers from Rajasthan’s fascinating legendary entertainment communities, combine their amazing skills with live musical support. Performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery – preserved over many centuries from the time of the Maharajas – they take this ancient, mystical and magical circus format to even greater heights.
Circus Raj’s cast of dancers, illusionists, aerialists, acrobats and rope walkers, with the eye-watering displays by their fakir, present a colourful, vibrant, fast-moving extravaganza of intrigue, drama, feats of daring, music, laughter and surprise.
Their spectacular, awe-inspiring and unique shows toured Europe extensively all through the summers of 2015 and 2016, thrilling audiences of all ages at Glasgow and Leicester Melas and numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Bestival and Lunar.
Come and see the incredible Circus Raj at the Glasshouse.
