After serving a 5 year apprentership and many years as a fully trained craftsman, I left Stuart Crystal in 1986 to form Redhouse Glass Crafts, a specialist company set up to offer a glass repair service; using both traditional skills and the latest modern technology to restore damaged glassware back to its former beauty.
We are able to repair everything from glasses to large bowls and vases. We can also re-cut chandeliers and even turn broken decanters into vases! Chipped rims are ground down to just below the damage, levelled off then both the inside and outside edges are bevelled before being re-polished.
This gives you just a brief description of the many types of repair work that can be carried out on crystal. As well as offering glass repair service, along with Basil Loveridge, we now also offer a glass processing service to both glass studios and craft people alike with facilities available for hire.
