Glasshouse Arts Centre; In Sound Company – Walking on Sunshine

from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm

Community choir – In Sound Company are performing a great range of uplifting music at their Spring concert – Walking on Sunshine, at the Glasshouse Arts Centre’s Furnace Auditorium on Saturday 23 March at 7.30pm. The programme includes feel good numbers I Can See Clearly Now, Something Inside So Strong, Like a Trumpet Resounding, and How Can I Keep from Singing

The choir has been singing together for several years as Dudley Performing Arts Singers, and set up as an independent community choir in 2012, making their debut under the new name at the Birmingham celebrations for the Olympic torch relay. With around 40 members to date, the choir is going from strength to strength, attracting new members over the last few months, with its inclusive fun approach to singing, and a musical mix from pop, classical, folk, world music to the West End.

The 40 strong choir will be supported by the Developmental Jazz Ensemble – a community band set up by talented local jazz trumpeter, Will Jenkins, to educate and develop the talents of young musicians based in Stourbridge, with a set list ranging from Louis Armstrong to Herbie Hancock to Will’s own compositions.

The concert on 23rd March will be the first choral concert at the Glasshouse Arts Centre’s auditorium, a lovely new performance space for Stourbridge.
